RA for your Wednesday

The holiday is going to throw everyone off this week anyway, so why not send my Friday RA email on a Wednesday? I’ll be at the OWWL Library System this week for their Small Libraries Summer Symposium, so I thought I’d get this out to you before I head that way. Let’s do this thing!

New month, new lists! We’ve got July lists from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, the LA Times, PopSugar, Town & Country, Time, and Shondaland.

For all you genre fans, we’ve got sci-fi from Lit Hub, fantasy from Paste, sci-fi/fantasy/horror from Gizmodo, mysteries and thrillers from Book Riot, and of course, crime reads from Crime Reads.

Speaking of genre, here’s a treat for all my romance people out there – an interview with Robin Bradford on Smart Bitches, Trashy Books! From the blog: “We talk about what reader’s advisory is, and how she teaches libraries to welcome readers looking for romance, and introduce romance to readers who aren’t aware it’s something they like.” (And yes, I’ve just ordered her new book for our professional collection. I’ll let you know when it’s here!)

Looking for a pop culture display? This list from Town & Country featuring 23 Books Like Yellowstone should get you started.

Finally, #FridayReads: I don’t have a good track record with things that are really popular, but I finally picked up Lessons in Chemistry and am really enjoying it so far. Happy reading!
